Job Description Summary:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of relevant experience. Degree requirements may be substituted for an equal combination of education, training, and experience.
• Three years of experience in UX design, UX strategy and IA functions;
• Experience designing and using an enterprise content management system (Drupal preferred) an Enterprise standard Internet architecture, applications and infrastructure;
• Solid knowledge of the website development process;
• Proficiency in online marketing, search engine optimization, taxonomy, branding, content strategy and usability principles/best practices;
• Understanding of Section 508 regulations;
• Strong project management skills;
• The ability to discern business and technical requirements from stakeholders;

Special Instructions to Applicants:
Develops architecture documentation based on business requirements, including but not limited to sitemaps, wireframes, user interaction models, task flows, conceptual diagrams, prototypes and navigation maps in collaboration with web producers, developers, visual designers and client stakeholders. Creates solutions for the web, mobile and tablet devices.
With direction from the Associate Director of User Experience and Information Architecture, collaborates with online strategy and development colleagues and client stakeholders in a deadline-driven environment, managing multiple projects at once, with varied timelines. Clearly communicates design and experience frameworks.
Maintains design systems, libraries, standards, etc., and updates these resources as new features are added. Under the direction of the Associate Director of User Experience and Information Architecture ensures that work deliverables aligns with these standards.
Conducts intelligence gathering exercises including but not limited to interviews, working sessions, focus groups, competitor analyses and usability testing and document findings. Works with client stakeholders and online strategy team members to gather project requirements based on existing business processes, goals and user needs. Builds consensus through strong communications and stakeholder management.
Works with visual designers and participates in visual design reviews, providing constructive feedback at each stage of the process to incorporate usability best practices.
Continuously analyzes the business performance of web properties and provides recommendations for improvement to optimize engagement and user experience, ensuring that users can navigate through GW sites intuitively.
Documents best practices and develops training materials for university clients that empower university web owners to maintain intuitive and compelling user experiences. Conducts workshops and training sessions as needed.
Collaborates with the Executive Director of Marketing and Creative Services to ensure that established processes, standards, policies, and procedures for university digital properties are established and followed.
Participates in regular online strategy and unified web presence team meetings.
