Position Focus: Under the general supervision of the Director of Diversity Programs, participates in the design, development and implementation of diversity related events and programs for the staff of Yale University. Develops, designs and delivers university-wide diversity and workplace culture focused training programs for the employees of Yale University. Consults with University department leaders to develop, design and deliver customized departmental educational initiatives for staff, while analyzing and utilizing the results of the Workplace Survey. Leads diversity related interventions including one-on-one training and coaching, focus groups, departmental education and awareness presentations, etc. Coordinates diversity forums to identify and address diversity awareness and education for all members of the organization. Provides primary coordination for programs aimed at advancing organizational diversity goals, programs and projects including but not limited to supporting external recruitment and outreach, diversity education and mentoring and advancement of Affinity Groups. Acts as primary programming liaison with Yale staff Affinity Groups. Assists with program coordination, design, logistics management and budget development and adherence. Serves as a key representative during external recruitment initiatives and conferences, (i.e. National Black MBA, Asian MBA) as well as support internal recruitment events, as appropriate. Remains abreast to and work closely with other diversity champions across the University to ensure alignment with new and existing programs, initiatives and objectives. Conducts research on professional and academic organizations to identify diversity best practices for program development. Analyzes data and provide recommendations for future actions. Works with Human Resource Information Systems in the preparation and analysis of data to record effectiveness of institutional efforts to address workforce diversity issues. Conducts marketing functions that include creating and sending monthly campus wide marketing email, writing articles for the Working@Yale and publishing schedules in selected University newsletters.

Principal Responsibilities
1. Performs broad range of professional activities to support and streamline HR processes, policies and programs.
2. Interprets and advises on HR employee-related policies, programs and procedures; works closely with administrative staff in each HR unit to ensure successful implementation of HR standards and processes.
3. Maintains and analyzes HR information and data, assists with writing and/or interpreting policies and procedures; assists with resolving employee and management questions and issues of HR cross-functional and HR division level issues.
4. Provides strategic support for organizational change by advising and supporting organizational design efforts and rollout of new initiatives; leads project teams for administrative, service and business operations changes, as needed.
5. Supports the design, development, implementation, communication, training and documentation of new programs, tools and processes.
6. Works closely with HR functional leaders to identify resource and information needs to support decision-making and assist in identifying a methodology for measuring the institution against set benchmarks.
7. Collaborates with HRIS and other units on specific HR reports and dashboards, ensuring that divisional information is readily available and in use.
8. Serves as an integral part of the Human Resources Administration.
9. May perform other duties as assigned.







Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and one year of broad human resources experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education in a closely related field.

Required Skill/Ability 1: Advanced project management skills including demonstrated skills in managing multiple projects and programs. Excellent oral and written communication skills including group facilitation/training skills.

Required Skill/Ability 2: Knowledge of diversity as a workplace issue. Knowledge of curriculum development; instructions design and delivery; methods, principles, and strategies of adult learning theory.

Required Skill/Ability 3: Knowledge of training operations, policy and procedures. Strong ability to gather and analyze data and develop reports.

Required Skill/Ability 4: Ability to work in a chaotic and fast paced environment. Ability to make sound decisions and execute. Ability to demonstrate strong customer service skills. Ability to resolve problems in a quick, efficient and creative manner.

Required Skill/Ability 5: Computer skills should include graphs, metrics design and proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft Office suite of tools including MS Publisher.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Organization Development, Cross Cultural, HR or related field and three (3) years of related experience that includes the advancement of diversity initiatives or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's Degree in related field and prior experience in Higher Education.
