Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, and three years experience in application support. Three years experience in systems support i.e. common operating systems (Windows, Unix/Linux, Mac), data communications management, database management and systems analysis methods and designs. Candidate must also have the product knowledge and technical skills to install network components and operating systems; must have an understanding of network standards, and they must be able to configure networks for fast, secure, reliable operation. The candidate must have experience with vendor management and must be able to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills. Excellent diagnostic skills are essential for this job. The candidate must be able to troubleshoot application, hardware or network issues quickly by identifying sources of problems. Must be detailed oriented, and have strong analytical and organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are essential. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, A.A.S. degree with minimum five years experience as stated above.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a healthcare/hospital environment. Support, development and testing experience in hospital information systems. Experience with Radiology and Cardiology systems and/or processes.

Brief Description of Duties:
  • Maintain and support the daily operations of the Syngo Dynamics, Centricity, Sensis, MUSE, and other Cardiology applications. Position may require oncall/recall and flexible hours/days when necessary. Rotational holiday coverage as needed.
  • Work to support projects with configuration, maintenance and implementation of complex information technology systems. Work with Management and Finance to ensure hospital charges are developed and maintained accurately on the system. Participate in Information Technology unit and integration testing events.
  • Work to support Cardiology equipment including modalities, servers, printers, scanners, pc's laptops and other devices that are utilized for Cardiology applications.
  • Support of off-site locations and remote reading setups, including but not limited to installation, troubleshooting, connectivity, and management of image review.
  • Responsible for system audits and database reporting.

Special Notes: Shift: Full time day shift, 830am-5pm. All Hospital positions are subject to changes in pass days and shifts as necessary. This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair. Please note Stony Brook Medicine is a smoke free environment.
