Research Analyst- RAR (Grant Funded)

Position Summary: This position manages assigned research projects in order to provide information and analysis for decision-making and program planning as well as to provide technical and analytical support to faculty, staff, and administrators. *This position is grant-funded and contingent upon allocated funds associated with the grant.

Principle Accountabilities: *Manage, develop & operationalize Research Agenda projects *Work with Manager of Research to develop -Appropriate research methodology & Instrumentation; clarify needs -Surveys -Collect, analyze, report data and information -Provide support for decision-making -Support evaluation of performance indicators (KPIs) -Support assessment of student-learning outcomes -Support institutional effectiveness, planning and other assessment activities *Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously *Must be able to organize and present information clearly in written or oral presentation formats. *Managing -Identify data integrity problems -Test programming and resultant data -Develop and enhance personal computing skills -Program review statistics *Responding to ad hoc requests for information and data *Participating on numerous committees and disseminate significant findings to peer community -Provide research assistance as required -Maintain RAR presence within appropriate College operations -Develop relationships with colleagues -Share significant findings and methodologies with peers (conference presentations, publication in journals)

Requirements: *Minimum of a Bachelor's level degree required; Masters Degree preferred in a related field (i.e.:Statistics;Economics; Social Sciences; or other related concentrations) preferred *Minimum of 2 years Research/Analytics related work experience required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Ability to plan, manage, and administer complex research projects *Current working knowledge of educational trends and issues *Experience conducting social science research *Clarify research needs of constituents and develop appropriate methodologies *Interact with all levels of administration/management *Understand policy analysis and implications to institution *Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills *Report preparation and presentation skills *Energy and flexibility to meet challenges in a climate of change *Knowledge of data warehousing and data mining techniques *Working knowledge of Datatel Colleague, statistical analysis packages (SAS), Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Remark WebSurvey® software. *Curiosity and tenacity to readily learn new procedures *Strong problem-solving skills Specialized/Technical Knowledge: *Evaluate various software for relevance and function *Conduct complex analyses using SAS software *Design studies *Gather, analyze, and validate data *Interpret research results *Communicate complex ideas and research findings clearly and concisely for a variety of audiences *Create and maintain research files, records, and other information related to research functions *Place and interpret institutional data and research findings in an appropriate context *Establish effective and cooperative relationships *Exercise critical judgment and creativity *Work independently and be highly self-motivated *Work on multiple projects simultaneously *Set priorities and meet deadlines *Apply educational theory *Utilize methodologies for planning, analyzing, and reporting information *Provide advice and guidance to requestors *Develop technical reports *Conduct reviews of plans, methodologies, and reports *Develop procedures for improving data and reporting quality *Deliver quality analyses to senior management/administration *Research design methodologies *Current issues in education and institutional research *Analytical strategies and techniques *Survey design and research *Data administration and management
