Nurse Practitioner / Physician's Assistant

The Counseling & Psychiatric Services (CAPS) at the University Health Center, University of Georgia, is excited to announce an opening for a psychiatric provider as a Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner/Physician’s Assistant. Master’s degree in a Nursing Education Program with licensure to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Bachelor’s degree as a Physician’s Assistant from an accredited school, CPR certificate, two years post-graduate experience treating clients similar to the college population, experience with brief assessment and crisis intervention, and computer skills required. Certificate as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, 2-years working in a university setting, experience conducting phone screening, experience using an electronic health record preferred. Under the supervision of a physician, duties include: acute, short-term, chronic, and preventive psychiatric care; brief assessments, evaluations, and consultations; initiating and monitoring treatment plans; rotation of on-call and after-hours services; documentation in the electronic health record; participation in other clinical, administrative, and support services in a multidisciplinary environment as needed. This is a 10 month position with benefits. License in GA is required by the date of first employment.
