The position of Instructor/Assistant Professor of Nursing is a nine-month tenure or non-tenure track faculty position in the College of Education and Health Professions. Degrees offered by the School of Nursing include the BSN, RN to BSN, and MSN. The College of Education and Health Professions has graduate programs at the masters, specialist, and doctoral levels. Diversity in faculty and staff in the college is encouraged. This position requires expertise in the area of medical-surgical nursing. The successful candidate will: 1) teach nursing in the undergraduate program; 2) advise students; 3) work cooperatively with area hospitals as well as regional, state and national organizations; 4) contribute to scholarly activity in the field through presentations, research, and publications; 5) perform service and administrative activities necessary to enhance the mission of the school, college and university; and 6) possess an understanding of technology as a tool for effective teaching. Excellence in teaching, contributions to scholarly activities as defined by the School of Nursing and service engagement are expected. A master’s degree in nursing is required. Experience in medical-surgical nursing is required. A nursing license in Georgia is required. Doctorate in nursing or doctorate in related field is preferred. Previous teaching experience in nursing at the baccalaureate or graduate level highly desired. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled.
