Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Professor of Music. This tenure-track position begins August 1, 2014. Salary and fringe benefits are competitive and commensurate with rank and experience.

Master’s degree in Music. Doctorate in Music Education required for tenure. Extensive education and experience in the field of Kodály Music Education and success in implementing it in a variety of settings, from K-12 schools to higher education. International reputation in the field of Kodály Music Education desired. Preference will be given to applicants with documented record of excellence in teaching and experience in enhancing the success of diverse learners, in research, scholarship and mentoring of students.

Teach graduate courses in Kodály Pedagogy, Practicum, Folk Music, and the possibility of additional undergraduate or graduate areas of expertise. Organize graduate student teaching placements and supervise all student teachers. University committee work as described in the Faculty Handbook.
