Faculty Position

Campus: Stony Brook West Campus/HSC

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in biological sciences or closely related discipline. Two years teaching experience at the college level. Familiarity with a variety of laboratory procedures and techniques.

Preferred Qualifications: One year experience in college level biological sciences curriculum development. Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities & Requirements: The Lecturer is responsible for curriculum development, jointly overseeing all aspects of the introductory laboratory courses (which service up to 2000 students per year), overseeing preparatory sessions each week and supervision of instructors and graduate teaching assistants assigned to the lab courses. There will also be teaching and administrative duties during the summer, with an associated summer stipend.

Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: August 2014.
