Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Institutional Research, the Assistant Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, and Analysis provides the leadership and expertise required to successfully implement Montclair State University’s comprehensive program of institutional assessment linked to strategic planning and accreditation. Working directly with personnel from all divisions of the University, the incumbent: (a) manages and coordinates assessment activities to ensure timely, and successful, completion of tasks; (b) advises University personnel on best practice in assessment and program evaluation; (c) assists University personnel with assessment-related research and data analysis; and (d) manages the database application used to house assessment data and generate assessment reports. The incumbent will provide technical assistance to members of the campus community, act as the project coordinator, maintain an assessment database, coordinate research and reporting activities, and manage all systems needed to support institutional assessment and efforts related to strategic planning.




Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must possess a master’s degree in education, a social science discipline, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Prior work experience related to assessment, program evaluation, strategic planning, or institutional research at a postsecondary institution is essential. Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the ability to provide leadership in this area. Job duties will require developing advanced skills in managing an assessment database, and training others in its proper use. Must be able to operate independently, and manage a complex, institution-wide project.



Salary Range Commensurate with Experience
