The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Science at CCNY is searching for an Assistant or Associate Professor with demonstrated research expertise in stable isotope geochemistry capable of leading a research center devoted to isotope research. Candidates should demonstrate a potential for developing a new program at City College. Senior-level candidates are expected to have a strong history of research funding from federal agencies or other sources. The successful junior candidate will lend the needed intellectual breadth to coordinate existing interdisciplinary talents within the sciences and cross divisional research at City College and build a new dimension of research within the Environmental Crossroads Initiative at the City University of New York. The candidate will also be required to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching, including the establishment of new courses in his/her area of specialization that expand and strengthen our newly established multi-disciplinary Earth systems/engineering science tract and help in the growth of our graduate programs. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to ongoing research programs building strength in the areas of geology, environmental geology, and terrestrial ecosystem science.


Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
