Position Summary: National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) Software Engineer - Design, develop, document, deploy, and support the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) EPICS-based control system. Implement operation software, physics applications, and models. Support control system commissioning and operation. Lead role in meeting goals set by line management. Develop the architecture of high-level applications. Implement operation tools and physics applications using Java, Python, and MatLab. Integrate operation tools and physics applications with low-level EPICS based control system. Interface with the operation and commissioning team to provide prompt support. Collaborate with the EPICS community to keep the FRIB control system up to date.

Support Staff: Minimum Requirements
A master's in computer science, electronics & computer engineering is required. 1 year work experience in the job offered or as a systems or controls analyst. Experience must have included development of large-scale control systems using Java, Python, and MatLab. Must have knowledge of service-oriented architecture and distributed control system software. Any suitable combination of education, training, and experience will be acceptable. Ability to work with export controlled items
