Job Description: Responsible for establishing relationships with regional employers to develop competitive job and internship opportunities, and to increase the variety and focus of industries recruiting on campus. Works collaboratively with academic and continuing education coordinators to connect programs to available positions. Cross-sells other Harper College services to external constituencies. Supervision: Under the supervision of the Dean of Workforce and Economic Development Dean and Job Placement Manager, works with great latitude for independent judgment in the completion of responsibilities.

Duties of Position: Develops new relationships with employers. Identifies and develops new employment opportunities for students through student work experiences and job placement. Identifies and recruits employers for on-campus recruiting and job fairs. Promotes student talent pool to meet regional employer needs. Promotes work opportunities to students and graduates. Locates job openings in underrepresented fields. Coordinates work with program coordinators to leverage and support the work of advisory committees. Cultivates new relationships with external constituents interested in hiring Harper students and alumni. Generally promotes Harper College workforce efforts to area employers. Collaborates with Business Outreach in bringing leads for customized training to the College. Collaborates with Admissions Outreach in communicating the benefits of the BusinessAdvantage program (in-District tuition for out-of-district residents who work in Harper's district). Performs related duties as assigned by the Dean of Workforce and Economic Development.

Education Requirements: Bachelor degree required in business discipline or related field.

Experience Requirements: A minimum of two years of business development experience. Experience with employer recruitment processes and monitoring employment trends highly desired. Experience with customer relationship software. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively across internal and external organizational structures. Strong follow-up and follow-through skills. Outstanding communication skills that emphasize effective listening.
