Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences
Trinity Washington University in Washington, DC invites nominations and applications for the position of dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). The dean is the chief administrator of the college, serving as a key member of the leadership team and reporting directly to the provost. The new dean will be expected to assume office in July 2014, or as soon thereafter as feasible. Trinity Washington University is a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital with an enrollment of more than 2,500 women and men in undergraduate and graduate programs. The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur founded Trinity in 1897 as a women’s college and their influence continues to inform Trinity’s primary mission to women and work for social justice in the Catholic tradition. CAS is Trinity’s historic undergraduate women’s college with more than 1000 students, most of whom are first generation underserved minority students from the DC metropolitan area. The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate and significant and increasingly responsible experience in academic administration, including teaching experience in a similar setting. It is strongly preferred that the candidate have had direct experience as an administrator in a liberal arts college working directly with underserved populations and with special attention to programs focusing on developing women’s success.
