Associate Professor of Nonprofit Leadership Management
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT IN THE DEPARTMENT OF LEADERSHIP STUDIES

The School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego invites applications and nominations for a faculty position in Nonprofit Leadership and Management in the Department of Leadership Studies starting in Fall of 2014. The position is tenure track at the associate professor level. Tenure is negotiable depending on qualifications. The faculty member will teach undergraduate, masters and doctoral students, conduct research, oversee graduate student research, and oversee and conduct evaluation projects.
Position Description and Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned doctorate in a field of study related to the nonprofit sector (e.g., nonprofit leadership/management, philanthropy, social entrepreneurship, public administration, public policy, social work, economics, psychology or another related discipline) and several years of academic experience that would warrant appointment at the rank of associate professor. The candidate must have an established record of excellent graduate and undergraduate teaching and an established strong research record focused on nonprofit organizations with a demonstrated ability to conduct and supervise masters and doctoral research. The candidate must also be an active member of the nonprofit academic community (e.g., ARNOVA), have experience working with and/or consulting in nonprofit/philanthropic organizations, and have a demonstrated ability to establish connections and work with community organizations. Expertise and/or work with a global and/or diversity focus are highly desirable.
This position will involve teaching responsibilities primarily at the masters and doctoral levels with occasional teaching at the undergraduate level; supervising doctoral research assistants engaged in research/evaluation projects; chairing thesis and dissertation committees; publishing and presenting research; and taking a leadership role in the ongoing development of the Leadership Studies program, in general, and the nonprofit area, in particular. The faculty position will report to the Chair of the Department of Leadership Studies and collaborate with the Director of the Institute for Nonprofit Education Research and the Director of the Caster Family Center for Nonprofit Research, as well as the other institutes and centers in the department, school, and university to advance the nonprofit program.
