- Oversees daily office operations; supervises the maintenance of accurate and secure student records; determines residency eligibility; enforces all retention and release policies regarding the confidentiality of student data

- Improves and maintains department performance regarding information processing through effective system management and staff development

- Reports on all matters pertaining to academic standards, academic petitions, student progress, and maintenance of enrollment eligibility

- Assists with developing strategic plan, evaluating outcomes and ensuring compliance with legal requirements

- Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management

- Provides auditors with appropriate documentation as requested

- May administer Registrar activities related to 'Return of Title lV' funding

- May manage professional and/or clerical staff

- Performs related duties as assigned.

In support of the campus mission, strategic plans, and values, Queens College seeks to fill two vacancies in the Office of the Registrar.

Reporting to the Registrar, the Associate Registrar is responsible for managing college registration operations and related activities.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Directly assist the Registrar in the development, documentation, and implementation of practices that contribute to achieving the goals of the Office of the Registrar.
- Assist with developing strategic plan; evaluate outcomes; and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Administer Registrar activities related to Return to Title IV funding.
- Manage, supervise, train, coach, and evaluate the staff of the Office of the Registrar.
- Coordinate efforts between the Registrar, Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, and OCT staff to ensure campus is making every effort to enhance student customer service and current technology meets the needs of communicating with staff, faculty, and students.
- Collaborate with campus-side offices, units, and departments on a wide range of issues including student enrollment, registration, billing, financial aid, and student progress towards degree requirements.
- Analyze and delegate assignments to ensure maximum utilization of capacities of staff; support in the development and implementation of new technology and the enhancements of existing applications.
- Participate in the collection, entry, and retrieval of student record data as directed by the Registrar.
- Oversee all End of Term processes which may include collection of grades and processing  functions of Deans List, Honors, and Awards, and Post Enrollment Requisite Checking.
- Oversee the management of Permits which includes enhancing the processing of permits; posting of permit courses and grades; and rectifying issues related to the CUNY EPermit system.
- Oversee the graduation audit process for both Undergraduate and Graduate candidates. This includes managing the staff responsible for the review and processing of graduation audits. Review and recommend enhancements to the graduation application process including working with appropriate campus offices to ensure that resources are readily available for audit staff.
- Manage the review and verification of continuing student residency. 
- Under direction of the Registration Review Committee, rectify student appeals related to adjustments to student enrollment.

Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.


Must have a minimum of two years' experience managing a large staff in a Higher Education setting. Must have PeopleSoft experience, specifically in regards to the Student Records and Student Financials Modules. This includes the ability to understand and interpret student financial records and experience with the maintenance of student records, specifically dealing with resolving issues related to Student Records such as rectifying duplicate EMPLIDS and Student Programs/Plans data issues.

- Demonstrated ability to adapt to meet customer needs; demonstrated organization skills; detail oriented; and ability to multi task
- Demonstrated strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office Products such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Knowledge of information systems related to a higher education or government environment
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills


Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
