Job Description

Associate Director of First-Year Writing, staff position.  Professional administrator to work directly with English chair and the director of First-Year Writing to carry out and support responsibilities that are central to the successful functioning of an award-winning, three-course sequence in first-year writing.  The associate director will have a direct role in FYW faculty hiring, professional development, and assessment; course scheduling, placement, student support, and other services; developing and maintaining special projects.  Twelve-month position.

Qualifications & Requirements

MA or PhD in Writing Studies, composition and rhetoric or related field (with significant graduate coursework in Writing Studies).  Experience and success in teaching first-year writing, and higher education administration, at least part time. Strong proficiency with organizational and office systems from spreadsheets to entry-level content management.  Desired: writing program or related administrative experience; experience with assessment, faculty development, and/or curricular development.

Salary Range Starting at $58,016.50
