Develops and manages career development programs and services in a College of Unit and assumes a leadership role in the design and delivery of creative approaches to career education and planning. 

- Assists in unit planning, such as setting goals and objectives, and monitors status of progress toward meeting goals

- Designs and produces outcomes assessment reports; reviews outcomes and feedback and recommends strategies to expand and improve services.

- Directs a portfolio of targeted career programs, such as mentoring, internship, and alumni programs

- Manages one or more aspects of career office operations, such as on-campus recruiting

- Evaluates new technologies, assessment materials, and other career tools, makes recommendations, and acquires/implements them

- May counsel a limited number of students

- Performs related duties as assigned.

- Research and analyze current career/job trends and workforce needs.
- Cultivate employer and alumni relations to expand employer recruitment initiatives on and off campus.
- Manage campus recruitment activities and calendar.
- Work closely with career advisors on implementing information sessions, campus recruitment, and internships.
- Track, maintain, and analyze student/alumni hiring data collected from the online career management/job database system and follow-up with recruiters and students.
- Outreach to Lehman faculty, professional staff, and alumni to develop collaborative initiatives with Career Services.
- Target special programs aimed at developing students' personal, leadership, and professional competencies.
- Identify, screen, and refer student applicants for opportunities leading to career development, leadership, and job prospects.
- Assess learning outcomes of students participating in career developmental workshops, effectiveness of workshops and programming, and delivery of services provided by the Center.
- Oversee and coordinate career developmental initiatives with Title V Career Advisor addressing freshmen and sophomore retention issues.
- Supervise and train support staff, Peer Educators, and CUNYCAP graduate students.
- Assist Director with recruiting/hiring of professional and support staff.
- In absence of Director, oversee Center.


Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.


- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or related area 
- Six years counseling experience required or combined experience with education and/or business
- Certified in assessment tools preferred (i.e., Myers Briggs, Strong Interest Inventory)
- Familiarity with career management systems, social media, and other career exploratory technologies


Salary commensurate with education and experience.
