Position Summary:

The Department of Theatre at Northeastern University invites applications and nominations for an Associate or Full Professor beginning August,2014. Candidates with a national and/or international reputation as a theatre practitioner and/or theatre scholar, who are interested in developing, with an energetic theatre faculty, a distinctive theatre program, innovative curricula, collaborative teaching and learning strategies across the curriculum, research initiatives, new forms of theatre practice, community outreach programs, and global connections are welcome to apply. The candidate will demonstrate an interest in the collaborative development of new undergraduate and/or graduate courses for the department, college, and university that explore, for example, interdisciplinary connections, inventive ways of making theatre, and theatre for social change.


Minimum qualifications required: terminal degree in Theatre (MFA or Ph.D.) by the start date. Additional qualifications include: a record of excellence in university teaching (with a minimum of five years teaching experience); prominent professional theatre credits and/or scholarly publications; commitment to interdisciplinary education; evidence of external research funding.
