Human Resource Mgr I- Employee Relations
Full/Part Time: Full-Time
1. JOB PURPOSE
The Human Resource Mgr I - Employee Relations position performs employee relations and compliance duties such as assisting with the annual performance review process, providing guidance to supervisors and employees regarding the disciplinary process and other policies, managing the controlled substance testing policy, and overseeing the employee assistance program.
2. JOB FUNCTIONS
Serve as a resource on the performance review process. Assist with the maintenance of the performance review system. Provide guidance and training to employees and supervisors including assisting with substandard performance issues. E/25%
CONSULTING & COUNSELING
Investigate complaints from employees and supervisors regarding a variety of issues. Interview parties involved and make findings and recommendations regarding resolution. Review disciplinary actions as applicable to ensure compliance with appropriate policy and procedure. Educate departments on the discipline policy. E/25%
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS (EAP)
Oversee the employee assistance program offered to all faculty and staff through an external vendor. Coordinate on-site seminars, webinars and other EAP events. E/15%
HR INITIATIVES/SPECIAL PROJECTS
Assist with other employee relations and compliance matters such as managing student loan defaults, HRIS upgrades, policy review and revision, and providing applicable training on HR policies and procedures. E/15%
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE TESTING
Coordinate the controlled substance testing process including quarterly, pre-employment and follow up testing. Assist with training regarding controlled substances and educating departments on drug and alcohol policies. Assist with all areas of compliance and policy revisions. E/10%
Oversee the exit interview process for faculty and staff. Maintain exit interview records and assist with scheduling, conducting, reviewing and any necessary follow-up action for exit interviews. E/10%
A bachelor's degree and experience in human resources management programs.
PREFERRED IN ADDITION TO THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate with employees, management, counselors, etc. Confidentiality is a must. Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to train and explain procedures. Ability to plan, organize and effectively coordinate programs of a highly confidential nature and work under minimal supervision requiring independent judgment. Must be flexible and highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, highly stressful and professional environment where deadlines must be met.

PAY & WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 05 ($ 31,182.00 - $ 42,000.00)
