Job Description Summary/Essential Duties:
Provides broad supervision of others across multiple program areas and significant budget management. Responsible for providing instruction of occupational skills in a classroom setting with a teaching load no greater than 49% or may provide support for an Academic Dean in his absence. Provide instruction of skills which prepare students for employment or to upgrade existing skills. Responsible for developing a competency-based curriculum and other instructional materials. Develops (or assist with developing) program objectives and significant budget planning and management for multiple programs for cohesiveness and integration, along with coordination with other departments involved. Develop curriculum and instructional training materials. Responsible for accurate student records and other records as required by law and the Board of Trustees and Administrative Procedures Manual. Enforces student policies or monitors enforcement of student policies. Develops and provides students with written course expectations and maintains progressive evaluation methods. Monitors student progress and placement. Coordinates the requisition of supplies and instructional materials as needed; and orders textbooks. Direct individual student counseling assignments and provide guidance with student advising. Responsible for spearheading staff meetings. Responsible for the production of reports related to assigned area as requested. Supervision: Responsible for the selection, training, coaching, evaluation and development of assigned staff. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Mostly works with light, easy to handle material. Occasionally may be required to work with moderately heavy equipment/material weighing up to 75 pounds.
May climb ladders and handle small construction projects-dry wall and painting.

Bachelor's degree or higher in direct relation to assigned area and three years
experience in a teaching environment or Associates degree in direct relation to assigned area and five years' experience in a teaching environment or high school graduate and seven years of experience in a teaching environment. Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintains records, generate reports and communicate with others. Some instructional areas may require greater degree of knowledge based on instructional programs. Excellent oral and written communication skills to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of DCCCD staff. The ability to provide quality customer service. Official transcripts will be required. *Will be subject to a criminal background check and/or fingerprinting.*
Position Specific Qualifications:
Experience with gallery coordination and curating exhibits. Able to manage Gallery Budget and work within the policies and procedures of the DCCCD. Must be Student oriented focus and attract, schedule, and contract artists for on campus installations. Experience and ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and external constituents in conjunction with annual scheduling. Able to work within committee structure to realize universal goals and be proactive in publicizing the events of the Gallery and Art department. Master’s degree in Art or a Master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in Art to teach in one or more areas within the arts discipline as needed is a plus.
