Position Description Summary:

The Department of Global Health at the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services seeks a full-time tenure track or tenured Associate Professor, or a tenured Full Professor with research, teaching and practice expertise in the area of global health policy.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate is expected to lead the teaching program in the MPH global health policy track in the department, mentor and advise MPH and Dr.PH students, develop an active, externally funded research program in areas relevant to global health policy, and take advantage of our Washington, DC location to engage in technical assistance and practice application in global health policy.


Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in a field related to global public health including public health, medicine, economics, public policy, nursing, or a related field. Experience in research and practice in global health policy, a successful track record of external funding for their research program, and a demonstrated commitment to educating the next generation of leaders in this field are required.


Advertised Salary: Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience.

The Department of Global Health has faculty with expertise in health communications, design, monitoring and evaluation of global health programs, nutrition, infectious disease epidemiology and control, maternal and child health, environmental health, medical anthropology, and medical sociology. It is part of a growing School of Public Health and Health Services that is the only accredited School of Public Health in our nation's capital.
