Faculty Position

Campus: Stony Brook West Campus/HSC

Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a distinguished reputation for research and graduate training in mathematics, statistics or operations research and its application to the theory and practice of quantitative finance. The candidate must have a strong vision for the continued development of the AMS quantitative finance program and for outreach to leaders in the investment community.

Preferred Qualifications: Strong academic background with established connections to the investment community.

Responsibilities & Requirements: The Endowed Chair will:

  • Direct the department's growing quantitative finance program (currently 75 MS and PhD students).
  • Develop outreach initiatives to the investment community, including the development of executive programs and industrial funding.
  • Participate in and provide leadership for the strong research program in QF.
  • Supervise and train PhD students.
  • Assist in the advising or QF graduate students.
  • Teach as required.

Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. **Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
