GENERAL DUTIES

Plans, develops and implements financial aid policies and processes in accordance with Federal, State and University standards. 

- Manages financial aid activities and represents the office at on-campus and off-campus meetings and forums 

- Manages day-to day administrative and systems operations for optimal efficiency and customer service; manages special processes such as Return of Title IV Aid

- Provides comprehensive financial counseling to parents and students

- Implements all necessary processes to support financial aid application, awarding and delivery cycles

- Oversees the coordination of financial aid activities with those of other College and University offices

- Implements and maintains web based services

- Performs related duties as assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

- Performs strategic scholarship analysis by formulating campus financial aid policies and fund utilization strategies promoting access, affordability, and retention of qualified students and supports the strategic goals of Hunter College.
- This position includes responsibility for fiscal accountability in fund management and disbursement; coordinating technology and information systems; efficient administration of student financial aid funds; discretion, program integrity, and compliance; collaborative integrative and efficient communications with campus constituencies; and effective use of the web, publications, social media, public speaking, or other means to provide information for current/prospective students.
- Extensive fiduciary responsibilities within the Financial Aid Office for reporting, audits, and reconciliation.
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree with six years of progressively responsible full-time experience in a student financial aid office preferred
- Expect knowledge of policies, regulations, and practices for awarding financial aid and advanced skill in policy and program development
- Advanced problem identification, critical thinking and problem solving skills; judgment and decision-making ability; collaborative abilities

COMPENSATION

$55,602 - $82,299; commensurate with experience.
