Mount Saint Mary College is accepting applications for the position of Director of Athletics. The Director of Athletics, Recreation, and Physical Education reports to the Dean of Student Affairs and is a member of the Student Affairs Staff. The purpose of this position is to direct and lead student athletes within the College’s and Athletic Department’s mission statement and within the guidelines and principles of NCAA Division III membership. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all facets of the athletic program including but not limited to: • Overseeing of staff, coaches, facilities, athletic training, fundraising, scheduling, and the hiring and training of staff. • Daily oversight for 20 intercollegiate sports programs which include NCAA, ECAC, and Skyline conference matters. • Ensure campus compliance with NCAA Division III regulations, Title IX, and college and/or state policies • Ensure necessary reports are filed to include EADA filing and all reports for NCAA. • Assist coaches in developing strong academic and social intervention programs to bolster student-athlete success, retention, and graduation rates. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a relevant field with a minimum of seven to ten years administrative experience preferably as Director at NCAA Division III institution. Proficiency with NCAA Division III rules and regulations; proven track record of strong leadership, management, and supervisory skills a must; computer skills, written and verbal communications skills, organizational skills, and ability to work evenings and weekends. Demonstrated experience with fund-raising and athletic recruitment preferred.
