The Blackstone Launch Pad, located in the heart of Temple University's Howard Gittis Student Activities Center, is a co-curricular program focused on advising and supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs. The program inspires and counsels students as they create and develop ideas from concept to launch of new ventures. Blackstone Launch Pad at Temple provides intensive one-on-one coaching, access to a network of advisors and venture coaches, a wide range of programming and events, and a place for aspiring student entrepreneurs to meet and build relationships that further their entrepreneurial endeavors. The Blackstone Launch Pad (BLP) at Temple University is partnering with the BLP at Philadelphia University and the University City Science Center in West Philadelphia in a cluster approach to contribute to economic development in the Greater Philadelphia Region. The Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all operational activities of the BLP at Temple University under the direction of the Executive Director and in accordance with all guidelines, requirements and obligations of the Blackstone grant. Maintains confidentiality of and protects the intellectual property and programmatic integrity of the BLP program. Provides daily oversight of consulting, advising and mentoring of entrepreneurs and those considering entrepreneurship as a viable career option. Creates action plans around ideation, strategies, goals, objectives of entrepreneurs; and assists in developing vision statements, business models, revenue models, and more. Inputs data to the Launch Pad database and directs student entrepreneurs to necessary and available resources at the BLP, at Temple, at the Science Center (managing partner) and in the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem. Establishes and maintains all business filing systems for the BLP at Temple, including storing and retrieving management data for reporting purposes. Develops systems to track, measure and record all aspects and results of the BLP. Manages, trains and supervises the program staff of the BLP at Temple and is also responsible for training and supervising venture coaches and advisors, volunteers, student workers and other employees. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least six (6) years related experience as an entrepreneur and/or consultant to emerging and growing firms, and/or management team member of an early-stage or growth firm. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills and Abilities: *Demonstrated ability to coach students on all facets of entrepreneurship and new venture creation. *Demonstrated ability to execute at a high level in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment. *Outstanding multi-tasking skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously and efficiently, meet deadlines and achieve executional excellence. *Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated networking skills. *Demonstrated "self starter" with considerable discretion, independent judgment, diplomacy and the ability to handle challenging and difficult situations with sensitivity. *Demonstrated proficiency in marketing strategies, public relations and communications. *Strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to interact with all levels of management and staff, faculty, students, mentors and alumni; ability to engage regional business executives, entrepreneurs and venture professionals in a meaningful and appropriate manner. *Demonstrated ability to proactively manage financial records and budgets. Preferred: *MBA degree and business consulting/coaching experience with first-time entrepreneurs and startup ventures, both traditional, social impact and non-profits. *High level of technical understanding to facilitate consulting and mentoring of innovation-based ventures (those with intellectual property). *Supervisory experience. *Previous experience in an academic setting.
