Administers Continuing Education and related external programs, assisting with program design, marketing, operations, and evaluation.

- Assists in developing programs and courses, analyzing course data and identifying opportunities for new and expanded course offerings

- Develops related marketing strategies, policies, and procedures and disseminates them to students, teachers, and administrators.

- Supervises operations such as registrar, bursar, data collection, and payment functions

- Designs outreach materials, web sites, catalogues, and other marketing vehicles; conducts marketing events

- Assists in the hiring and administration of program coordinators and instructors.

- Assists in collecting and analyzing course evaluation and customer retention data.

- Performs related duties as assigned.

Higher Education Assistant




The Continuing Education Program Specialist is responsible for the successful operation of the Continuing Education programming of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS). This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the SCPS.

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Schedule all certificate and personal development courses.
- Work with certificate program coordinators to monitor, evaluate, and schedule all certificate programs.
- Produce SCPS fall, spring, and summer brochures.
- Prepare and edit course descriptions for registration platform.
- Schedule and coordinate Open Houses and other marketing events.
- Prepare, schedule, and coordinate all advertising, mailings, and marketing for programs.
- Ensure that all teachers submit syllabi and book orders in a timely fashion.
- Provide guidance and feedback to teachers to insure alignment of courses with needs of school. 
- Ensure quality of courses by conducting and monitoring student evaluations and evaluating instructors.
- Assist in developing new courses and certificate programs.
- Collect data and provide analysis relating to applicants, course completion, job placement, licensing/certification, and overall enrollment trends.
- Oversee welcome center and part-time registration staff.


Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience.



This position requires a bachelor's degree and no less than 4 years administrative experience in continuing education.
- Experience in marketing and program development
- Master's degree preferred
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and analytical capability
- Ability to work closely with faculty, staff, and students
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, knowledge of administrative and instructional practices
- Ability to successfully manage a number of projects simultaneously and deliver product on tight deadlines
