Working Title: Assistant Soccer Coach

Job Summary/Essential Functions: This position is housed in the athletic department and will report to the Head Soccer Coach. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Coach to assist the Head Coach in the administration of NCAA Division I Intercollegiate program while adhering to all university, Big Sky Conference and NCAA rules and regulations. This position will work closely with the equipment staff, sports medicine staff, athletic facility staff, asst. athletic director for academic services and asst. athletic director for compliance. He/she will also work collaboratively with relevant constituent groups.

It is the responsibility of the Assistant Soccer Coach to study and know all policies and procedures integral to university, Big Sky and NCAA rules compliance. The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting in the recruiting, planning and conducting training sessions, general administrative duties, fund raising and soccer camp coordination. This position will also require some game day operations and all away game travel.

Conditions of Employment: This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt or, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check for continued employment.

Travel may be required a minimum of eight (8) nights per year for team competition.

Applicants must be able to maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA and institutional rules, regulations and policies.

Must annually pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test for off-campus recruiting.

Work Schedule: Work schedule will be non-traditional in nature (some evenings and weekend work will be required).

Minimum Qualifications: NSCAA Advanced National, USSF or UEFA "B" License.

Previous playing and/or coaching experience or professional and/or Olympic Development Level.

First Aid/CPR/AED certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Rules compliance is an important responsibility of this position. Employee shall support and comply with all applicable rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Big Sky Conference and other established bodies that govern intercollegiate athletics and the University. In the event the Employee becomes aware, or has reasonable cause to believe that violations of rules compliance may have taken place, Employee shall report same promptly to the Athletic Director, Compliance Administrator or his/her designee.

Candidates must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications: Three (3) years of soccer coaching as a head or assistant coach.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain multiple camp and academy programs.
