An experienced academic administrator who combines attention to detail and quality with a commitment to innovative education of non-traditional students, the VPAA/CAO will have broad responsibilities for the planning, development, assessment and administration of educational programs and services and provide vision, leadership and direction in support of student educational goals and success. Reporting to the President and as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the VPAA/CAO will participate in strategic planning, policy formulation and budgetary decisions and oversee programs in three academic units: The Audrey Cohen School for Human Services and Education, the School for Business, and the School for Public Affairs and Administration; plus the Library and Academic Support Services. The VPAA/CAO will work closely with the Executive VP for Enrollment Management to develop integrated, comprehensive retention programs. Should have at least five years managerial experience at the level of dean or above in higher education and earned doctorate or equivalent combination of credentials and experience. Background in Human Services, Social Work, Business or Public Administration a plus but any degree area suitable. Prefer experience in institutions serving adult, working students. Must commit to the development, application and assessment of MCNY’s unique system of Purpose-Centered Education and oversee academic initiatives at our Manhattan Campus and Bronx Extension Center.
