President, Dutchess Community College

Dutchess Community College invites applications and nominations for President.

Dutchess Community College (DCC), founded in 1957 and located in New York’s beautiful mid-Hudson Valley, 90 minutes north of New York City, is one of the most highly regarded community colleges in the SUNY system. The college had a fall 2013 enrollment of more than 10,000 credit students and offers more than 60 academic programs, with A.A. and A.S. programs designed for transfer comprising the majority of programs. A.A.S. and certificate programs provide additional options for those who wish to enter the workforce after graduation. Another 10,000 noncredit students are served annually by the Office of Community Services’ professional, workforce development, life enrichment, youth, ESL, high school equivalency and other offerings. Located in the Town of Poughkeepsie, DCC is one of the largest employers in Dutchess County and plays a vital role in local economic development and the area’s cultural and social vibrancy.

The Dutchess Community College Board of Trustees seeks a new President who has a deep understanding of, and who is committed to, the mission and values of the College. This individual will be a person of integrity who will provide creative and inspirational leadership, and who will make a long-term commitment to DCC. The President will be collaborative, innovative and committed to student success.

Successful candidate will have experience leading program changes that increase enrollment and improve student retention and completion, as well as demonstrable interest in personally interacting with students. An earned doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Mgt., or J.D.) from an accredited institution is preferred.
