Reporting directly to the Chief Librarian, the successful candidate supports the college library in  providing in-depth consultation with students and faculty as well as collaboration for the ongoing improvement of instructional programs and practices. Pursues an active scholarly agenda, performs supervisory duties, and participates in college-and university-wide programs and committees as assigned.

Responsibilities include the following:
- Works collaboratively with a team of library faculty to meet the reference and instructional needs of a multilingual and student population.
- Contributes to the library curriculum by exploring and implementing innovative teaching modalities and pedagogical approaches to integrating information literacy into the curriculum.
- Develops and provides instruction in the use of information resources and technology for students, faculty, and staff.
- Serves as liaison to assigned academic department with collection development, web content development, and library instruction responsibilities.
- Selects materials for addition to the collection with emphasis on the assigned bibliographic area.
- Provides course-related instruction and open workshops for literacy information.
- Participates in professional activities and assumes other professional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Master's in Library Science (MLS), Master's in Library Information Studies (MLIS), or closely related discipline from an ALA-accredited institution, with a second graduate degree required.  Also required is the ability to work with others for the good of the institution.

The following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience in academic Library environment
- Ability to work with a diverse student body in a multicultural and multilingual environment
- Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with MS Office applications and instructional design principles
- Excellent presentation and communications skills
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours
