Assistant/Associate/Full Professor and Director, Systems Engineering Program
The School of Professional Studies at Otterbein University invites applications for an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor and Director of our new Systems Engineering program, to begin in August 2014. A PhD in industrial, mechanical, or systems engineering is required, as well as leadership experience in an academic setting. The successful candidate needs to be prepared to develop this new program, including ongoing curriculum design, facilities planning, student and faculty recruitment, resource development, and building relationships with local industry partners. Our goal is to admit students in Fall 2015 and achieve a successful ABET accreditation upon the graduation of that first cohort. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. In addition to administrative duties, the program director will teach in all levels of the undergraduate engineering curriculum, including courses for non-science majors in math/physics or our nationally-recognized Integrative Studies program, and pursue a vigorous, externally fundable research program involving undergraduates. This is a unique opportunity to help build a new, integrative engineering program and lead it from inception to realization. Applications: Interested candidates should send a CV, a statement of research interests, a statement of leadership experience, and the names of three references to Dr. Barbara Schaffner, Dean of the School of Professional Studies, c/o Kelly Stoll, Otterbein University, Westerville OH 43081. Applications may be emailed to email@example.com. Review of applications will begin March 1, 2014, and will continue until the position is filled.
