The A. The Associate Director, Graduate Career Development Center, under the direction of the Director of Graduate Career Development Center, is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all graduate career services activities for the Anderson Graduate School of Management (AGSM). This responsibility includes working with Graduate Program staff and External Relations staff to develop internship and full-time job opportunities, career building tools, and job market strategies for graduate business students. Playing an external role, the Assistant or Associate Director also works closely with the business and the UCR alumni community to seek out internship and full-time employment opportunities for all AGSM students enrolled in the MBA, Flex MBA, MPAc, and MFin degree programs.


Minimum Requirements:
1.Master's degree and three to five years of work experience or bachelor's degree and five to seven years' experience. Educational degrees must be from a college or university accredited by a regional accreditation agency such as the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Advanced degree should be in Business, Psychology, Counseling or a related field and work experience would indicate years of progressively responsible experience in education, corporate recruiting, career development, or other related areas.

2.Demonstrated high-level strategic planning and analytical skills with the ability to establish and articulate goals, strategies, tactics, and benchmarks. Ability to actively engage staff and faculty in this process and to elicit their support for goals, strategies, and action plans, etc.

3.Skills to identify, analyze, and propose effective programs, projects, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective outcomes.

4.Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage diverse audiences, including students and personnel, to meet deadlines, and to manage resources effectively.

5.Understanding of MBA-related marketplaces, corporate environments and AGSM goals. Demonstrated knowledge of a wide variety of local, national and internationally-oriented professional occupations, job search methodologies, and current global employment trends.

6.Ability to make recommendations regarding high profile issues and challenges.

7.Exceptional interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills, including presentation skills, to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and enhance delivery of career development services to students and alumni.

8.Extensive, comprehensive knowledge of computer systems, data management, software, audio visual technology, email and the Internet.

9.Ability to build relationships and manage complex, highly visible services for graduate students, alumni, donors, and employers for the overall success and reputation of AGSM.

10.Demonstrated ability to carry out comprehensive management responsibilities in a complex, fast-paced, results-oriented working environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Have a well-developed regional and national corporate network.

2.6-10 years of progressive work experience in education, business, or related industry.

3.Prior student or career services work experience in an AACSB Accredited Business School.

4.The ability to administer and interpret a variety of career and personality inventories, e.g. Strong, SDS, CareerLeader, and MBTI.

5.Proven international experience and/or familiarity with international employment markets for MBA-level internships and job opportunities; experience in dealing with multinational corporations in Asian markets would be particularly useful.
