The Beers’ Lab has an existing program funded by NIH, the Department of Veterans Affairs, private foundations, and industry to study the molecular mechanisms that regulate tissue injury and repair in focused on discovery, target ID, target validation, and proof or principal studies aimed at uncovering and exploiting novel pathways to treat fibrotic lung diseases. The postdoctoral fellow can focus the project in any of several related areas (epithelial biology, immunological networks, metabolomics, epithelial-mesenchymal crosstalk, and/or transcriptomics/proteomics) using 2 novel published models of lung injury and fibrosis (see https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29920187; https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30910861; https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30721158 .
