Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:Under general supervision is to adhere to the federal depository library program’s policy and procedures. Plans, organizes, and manages all aspects of the state and federal documents and micro-forms collection. Assists with the administration of the integrated library system (Millennium). Provides reference and research assistance to students and faculty in the use of printed, electronic , micro-forms, and CD-ROM resources.
Essential Duties Summary:- Oversees and manages daily operations of government documents operations, including check-in, claiming, and the depository program. Ensures compliance with University and library policies and procedures.
- Provides government reference and research services to students, faculty, and public library patrons. Performs on-line database searching.
- Plans automation of depository records and procedures. Maintains documents collection and departmental files and records. Evaluates materials for possible weeding. Maintains and checks printouts of item selections for accuracy.
- Performs annual disposal of outdated documents according to FDLP standards and procedures. Oversees bibliographic control processing of documents collection. Resolves complex processing, claiming, and cataloging problems.
- Compiles and maintains monthly and annual statistical data for various reports related to collection inventory, library services and departmental activities.
- Instructs library patrons in use of various complex indexes, guides, and other bibliographic and reference tools such as the computerized system for access to materials in the government documents collection. Participates in digitization and archival initiatives
- Promotes documents collection through handouts and bibliographies on current legal issues or the law school curriculum. Serves as liaison between the library and GPO.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:$55,038.89 - $70,174.59
Education:Master’s degree or Juris Doctorate degree.
Required Licensing/Certification:Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:
- Policies, library procedures, and practices.
- Other job-related software and systems.
- Acts as the ultimate subject matter expert in a professional discipline or function; understood to be the “go-to” expert on complex methods and procedures. Requires the ability to lead the development or modification of work procedures in the discipline or function for virtually any situation.
