The Athletics Department at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an Athletics Equipment Manager. The Athletics Equipment Manager position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day equipment operations for the entire athletics department at Georgia State University with primary responsibility for football operations.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This role ensures that all student-athletes, coaches, and staff are properly outfitted and fitted for equipment across all teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Develop and maintain the football equipment and general equipment operations budgets.
  • Oversee and coordination of all equipment operations for football home and away competitions.
  • Coordinate all aspects of practice operations for football from practice setup to tear down, laundering of gear, maintenance and storage of equipment and repairing of equipment as needed.
  • Work with equipment providers such as BSN, Gillman, Schutt, Riddell, Under Armour and others to coordinate and acquire equipment for all programs for the Department.
  • Coordinate orders with the coaches from each team, work with the Business Office to create Purchase Orders for all equipment needs and reconcile those orders when equipment is received to ensure proper payment.
  • Oversee assistant equipment manager, graduate Assistants, work studies, and student workers.
  • Adherence to Georgia State University, NCAA, Sun Belt Conference rules and policies.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

The Georgia State Panthers are members of the Colonial Athletic Association and compete in 16 NCAA Division I intercollegiate men’s and women’s sports, including basketball, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, track and volleyball. The university announced in April 2008 that is will begin Division I-AA football in 2010.

The university’s innovative Touch the Earth program brings outdoor recreation ranging from backpacking, rock climbing, sailing, kayaking, rafting and water-skiing to out-of-state snow-skiing and snorkeling trips. And WRAS, Georgia State’s popular 100,000-watt radio voice, is the most powerful student-run radio station in the United States.
