This role is key to the success of the college engagement and annual giving team for the College of Veterinary Medicine. Its purpose serves to connect and build meaningful relationships between donors, alumni, veterinary clients, industry partners, parents, and other friends of the college with the ultimate goal of leading to philanthropic support. This position’s chief responsibility is to expand and enhance the development functions of the college through innovative, personalized engagement strategies and events.

College Engagement:

• Provide information on the College of Veterinary Medicine relative to constituents’ interests and share upcoming opportunities to attend events, volunteer, share stories, or other ways that will deepen their engagement with the CVM.
• Develop and maintain broad knowledge of the CVM, such as the DVM program, undergraduate and graduate programs, research, hospital and clinic operations and services, faculty relations, etc.
• Coordinate meaningful campus visits and opportunities with constituents and collaborate whenever possible to build stronger relationships with supporters and colleagues.
• Manage CVM DAR newsletter and generate spotlight stories for CVM publications.
• Create strategic content calendar for CVM digital or print media.

Annual Giving:

• Responsible for managing a portfolio of college prospects and donors for the purpose of meaningful engagement that leads to philanthropic support. Prospects and donors could consist of alumni, hospital clients, non-alumni partners, parents, industry partners, etc.
• Plan, create, and implement annual giving and college engagement through direct marketing efforts.
• Update constituent information in the GAIL database.
• Refer prospects and donors to Regional Directors once the relationship with the CVM has been firmly established and the timing for increased multi-year giving has been identified.

Event management:

• Lead coordination of CE Receptions and non-signature events
• Provide support for CVM Signature Events

Other duties as assigned:The normal work day is 8:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. However, this role may require some travel, night, and weekend duties in fulfillment of the responsibilities of the position.

• Additional duties will be required on Alumni Weekend, Dean’s Tailgate, and at other special events which frequently fall on nights and/or weekends.
• Attend meetings and events as appropriate: including periodic Development & Alumni Relations meetings and representing College of Veterinary Medicine as needed at external events.
• Supports the rest of the CVM Development & Alumni Relations team through furthering annual giving efforts, executing engagement initiatives, and fulfilling donor relations best practices.
