Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:Responsibilities include full-time teaching and advising students in the occupational safety and health program. Related duties include university services, conducting scholarship/research, participating in curriculum development, pursuing grant opportunities, building relationships with local industry, and recruitment of students, along with other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirements:Ph.D. in Occupational Safety and Health or related field is required. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:Candidate must be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate-level coursework related to occupational health and safety. Successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to effectively contribute to a collaborative academic environment. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:Professional certifications such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), and OSHA Authorized Trainer (Construction and/or General Industry) are strongly preferred. Those with relevant teaching experience in higher education or industrial training as well as experience with online teaching platforms and methodologies, are preferred for their ability to contribute practical expertise to the program.
Annual Salary:$60,755 (Additional pay dependent upon qualifications)
