Post Doc Faculty in Chemical Engineering
The School of Chemical Engineering is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Barrier Materials Lab, within the Petroleum Engineering Program to lead experimental studies in the development and testing of selfsensing wellbore barrier materials for geothermal wellbore construction.
The candidate will be responsible for other duties including managing laboratories and equipment, training graduate and undergraduate students, data analysis/presentation, and the preparation of manuscripts and proposals. Upon performance evaluation at 6 months, the contract can potentially be renewed for additional 12-18 months. This is a multinational geothermal project involving several countries and the US team is represented by LBNL (PI) and OSU (coPI).
Qualifications: The applicant should have a Ph.D. degree in materials science or civil engineering with expertise in cement/concrete and application of graphene for self-sensing capabilities. Additional competences in SEM/FIB-EDS, Xray microscopy, image analysis, chemistry of materials/ micro/nano indentation and ability to use materials characterization tools such as EBSD, EPMA, XRD, AFM, XRF.
