          The School of Packaging at Michigan State University has an available position for a research scholar.           Required Degree

          Doctorate -Civil, Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering

          Minimum Requirements

          1. Focus on solid mechanics and/or dynamics/vibrations.
          1. Proficiency in Matlab and/or Python programming.

          1. Experience in Finite Element Method modeling and analysis, and familiarity with Abaqus and Ansys software.

          1. Familiarity with Machine Learning.

          1. Proven track record of published peer-reviewed journal papers.

          Desired Qualifications

          1. Familiarity with the mechanics of packaging structure, such as corrugated paperboards and polymer foams.

          1. Knowledge of Nonlinear Dynamic Systems, Signal Processing, and Composite Mechanics.

          1. Practical experience in lab experiments and familiarity with universal testers, DIC, vibrometers, shaker tables, and accelerometers.

          1. Advanced knowledge and experience of machine learning

          1. Insight into fluid mechanics.
