Job Details
- Responsible for creating and maintaining service documentation, and for creating and maintaining service documentation for assigned services. As changes are made to the network infrastructure, the Senior Network Engineer must add needed documentation such as “how to” articles and updated network architecture diagrams to reflect changes. The Senior Network Engineer must also ensure that the network database is always correct, remove old entries, and ensure new devices appear in the network management systems. They also provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
- The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design and maintenance, including software, configuration, and fault management, for SPAR’s core and centralized network services. The Senior Network Engineer is also responsible for routine maintenance of access and SPAR's core and datacenter layer network hardware. This includes updating routing and VRF topologies, determining backup and restores procedures, and standardizing configuration templates. The Senior Network Engineer will also configure new SPAR core and datacenter devices from scratch.
- The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for performing audits, back up procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with SPAR’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. The Senior Network Engineer also supports network moves, migrations, and changes including upgrades and configurations.
- Monitor the capacity and performance of all of SPAR’s network services and infrastructure, and maintain baselines, watch for trends, and recommend upgrades to remediate.
- Responsible for troubleshooting of large-scale network performance and disruptions impacting SPAR's network, including determining the root cause of high-level network service failures, which includes services such as the wired and wireless network, DHCP, DNS, VoIP, Firewalls, VPN, Network Management systems, routing, etc.
- Will be the primary support, along with the Senior Network Engineer, to resolve system, network, infrastructure and hosting problems in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions. In addition, the Senior Network Engineer, will propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams and charts when necessary to provide information to the development team.

Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Eight or more years of experience including an in-depth knowledge of Cisco networking configuration and troubleshooting. This includes the ability to properly analyze, architect and integrate a large enterprise data network to meet the needs of SPAR.
- Must have advanced knowledge of load balancing/DNS, network management, experience with technical product evaluation, new product certification, strong written skills for architecture documentation and have performed administration for data centers and networks.
- Must be detail oriented, able to work with a team of engineers, developers and project managers, and proficient in managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
Must have proven experience in the following:
· Experience in the design, development and implementation of networks, systems, storage and related products.
· NX-OS, IOS, VDC, vPC
· BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
· VRF technology
· Multicast deployment
· ASA Firewalls and VPNs
· 802.1x integration and implementation
· Network Security
· In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP data networks
· Technical knowledge of current software protocols, and Internet standards
· Proven ability to configure Cisco routers, firewalls and switches
· Network management and analysis tools such as SNMP probes, NMAP and Network Sniffers or similar devices or programs
· Proven knowledge and understanding of DNS, DHCP, IPAM and NTP
· Proven technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as: TCP/IP, 802.1x, ACLs, VRF, VTP, STP, VLANs, HSRP, TACACS
· Managing large complicated networking configurations
· Experience working with network management software
· Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting experience
· Excellent communications and documentation skills, including creating complex Visio diagrams
