(Contingent upon available funding): 21.00 - 26.00, Hourly Work Schedule: M-F, 8a-5p with overtime as necessary Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Position is a primary resource for the repair and maintenance of the CVM's HVAC-R systems. Performs preventative maintenance including, washing coils, greasing, oiling, changing belts and filters. Responsible for analyzing mechanical, electrical and thermodynamic problems in domestic, commercial, refrigeration systems and various appliances and appurtenances. Analyzes mechanical, electrical, and gas problems in building equipment, making repairs or recommending solutions. Responsible for other general building maintenance will be a part of the responsibilities, including minor plumbing, electrical, and other building and grounds repairs.
This is a non-exempt position (which indicates that the position is not exempt from overtime pay or comp/personal time accrual). Regular duty hours are Monday-Saturday, 8:00am -12:00pm and 1:00pm - 5:00pm. Hours may vary, depending upon equipment needs, to include some early morning, evening and/or weekend time.The employee in this position is required to be on rotating standby for emergencies and/or any other event after 5 p.m. on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The employee in this position is required to work overtime when work requires it.The employee must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are not for personal use. Must be able to perform snow and ice removal tasks, and respond at any time of the day or night when scheduled by management regardless of the weather conditions. Some irregular and extra hours as needed for projects and emergencies. Emergencies frequently involve difficult working conditions.Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver’s license. A valid driver’s license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned. Forklift/Lift Truck Operator Safety Certificate must be acquired after employment begins. Must be eligible for employment in areas governed by the U.S. Patriot Act and the Public Health and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002, 42 CFR 73, 7 CFR 331, and 9 CFR 121. Consequently, the individual hired for this position must successfully complete a Department of Justice/Federal Bureau of Investigation (DOJ/FBI) security risk assessment as well as the background check.

Required Qualifications:
High School/GED and three years of prior successful work experience with two of those years of experience in heating and air conditioning repairs, maintenance, and/or installation working in a building maintenance organization. Electrical controls troubleshooting using manufacturer's schematics.
Must have and maintain after hire a valid driver's license.
EPA Refrigeration certification.
Usage Card within a year of hire.
Knowledge of refrigerants and use of refrigerant regulations.
Knowledge of the functionality of kitchen equipment and kitchen operations.
