Job Summary
The Department of Computer Science and Mathematics in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese American University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in mathematics. The department is seeking highly qualified and motivated faculty members who are committed to research, innovative teaching, program development and academic advising.
Department Profile
The Computer Science and Mathematics is one of the 9 departments of the School of Arts and Sciences at LAU. It offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science, a B.S. in Bioinformatics, a B.S. in Mathematics, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Data Science and an M.S. in Computer Science. The undergraduate program in Computer Science is ABET-accredited.
Job Qualifications
Prospective candidates must have earned a PhD in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Computational and Applied Mathematics from a well-recognized University and have a good research record. Experience in grant writing, industrial collaborations, or interdisciplinary research is a plus.
While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, the department is especially interested in candidates with research specialization in one or more of the following broadly defined areas: numerical analysis, optimization, computational mathematics, data-driven modeling, or mathematical aspects of AI and machine learning.
