Job Summary: The Industry Partnerships Program Manager develops and implements strategies to enhance collaboration between the University and industry. Works closely with the Associate Vice President for Economic Development, Deans, Associate Deans, Department Chairs, Institute and Center Directors, and individual faculty in the colleges to define and promote partnerships and research that transcends the classic academic walls by articulating a compelling value proposition to external partners. Builds upon current successful industry-academic partnerships by stewarding research engagements with industry, national laboratories, and researchers in defense laboratories.

Additional Department Summary: The scope of this position provides the qualified candidate a unique opportunity to create transformational research partnerships with industry and other external collaborators. In turn, these partnerships will combine outcomes from impactful research and services provided by UA with the critical needs of industry and provide key workforce development opportunities to graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and ten (10) years of relevant business development experience; OR masters degree and five (5) years of relevant business development experience; OR PhD or EdD and three (3) years of relevant business development experience.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to travel to engage with existing and potential partners. Adaptable, with ability to work in an implementation role as part of a high- functioning team. Demonstrated organizational skills sufficient to prioritize and execute at a high level. Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, used in situations requiring political acumen, conflict management, and an awareness of cultural differences. Demonstrated experience and ability to communicate effectively, including empathetic listening, giving presentations and public speaking. Demonstrated experience working with individuals from different cultural, ethnic, geographic, and experiential backgrounds. Advanced ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills. Advanced ability to effectively interact with a broad community of faculty, researchers, scientists, industrial partners, staff, and students. Advanced ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers. Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to act decisively.

Preferred Qualifications: Technical background, knowledge, and/or interest in technologies related to a STEM field.
