The Custodian/Utility Worker position is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities. This position performs a variety of custodial, maintenance, and utility duties to ensure high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and facility upkeep. The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a strong commitment to workplace safety and customer service. This position may work independently or as part of a team and may be assigned to different shifts and locations as needed.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
Cleaning and Sanitation:Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areasClean and sanitize restroom fixtures, partitions, mirrors, and floorsEmpty trash receptacles and recycling binsVacuum carpets and clean hard surface flooringDust and clean furniture, fixtures, and equipmentClean windows, glass surfaces, and door framesMaintain supply rooms and custodial closetsFollow proper chemical handling and safety proceduresBuilding Maintenance:
Report building maintenance issues and safety concernsPerform basic maintenance tasks as assignedAssist with furniture moving and room setupsRemove snow and ice from walkways during winter monthsMaintain exterior areas including sweeping and trash removalReplace light bulbs and perform basic lighting maintenanceClean entrance mats and runnersAssist with preventive maintenance tasksSafety and Security:
Follow all safety protocols and proceduresUse personal protective equipment as requiredMaintain clean and safe work areasReport safety hazards and concernsSecure buildings and rooms as assignedMonitor building security during shiftsRespond to emergency cleaning situationsParticipate in safety training programsSpecial Projects:

The Custodian/Utility position supports the facilities department and is available to start on/or before March 16, 2025.
HoursThis position is fulltime, 40 hours/per week, working 2nd shift.
