The Department of Community Health and Family Medicine (CHFM) is looking for a Family Medicine Physician to join our team to serve as the joint Medical Director at the newly opened Eastside Urgent Care Center and UFHealth Family Medicine Cornerstone Practice, located in Gainesville, Florida! As part of our team, you'll be at the heart of providing accessible, high-quality care to the East Gainesville community. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative effort with the University, the City of Gainesville, and Alachua County to improve healthcare access and truly impact the lives of local residents. Our state-of-the-art, 10,000-square-foot facility is designed to support both providers and patients with the latest medical technology in a modern, efficient environment. As part of our team, you'll have access to advanced urgent care, primary care, imaging, and lab services—all within a collaborative setting that prioritizes both patient care and physician experience.
We anticipate serving 12,000 to 15,000 urgent care patients and 3,200 primary care patients annually, providing a dynamic and rewarding practice environment. This center is a key initiative in expanding accessible medical, dental, and mental health services to East Gainesville, reducing avoidable hospital visits, and ensuring comprehensive care for the community.

Minimum Requirements:
- An M.D. or D.O. degree (or equivalent), board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, and a current Florida medical license (or eligibility) are required.
- Eligible or have a valid Florida medical license.
- Proven experience in providing comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, with the ability to manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Experience with Electronic Health Record (E.H.R.) systems is also essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical expertise
- Strong character, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong written communications skills
- Superior leadership qualities enhanced by superb judgment, problem-solving and cognitive skills are desired.
