LC State invites applications for the position of Vice President for Finance and Administration.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $148,000 - $155,000
Degree Required: Advanced/graduate degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Required Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of accounting and/or financial management experience.
2. Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience.
3. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles regarding public higher education (GAAP).
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Doctorate degree from a regionally accredited college or university (e.g., PhD, EdD, JD).
2. Higher education finance/administration experience is strongly preferred.
3. Experience with state politics and oversight of public higher education.
4. Experience with capital projects and new construction oversight.
5. Legal training and/or experience with legal compliance.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President, the Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA) serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the college, providing leadership and direction relative to financial strategies, forecasting and business operations.
In addition to the strategic components, the VPFA is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures in finance and operations. Areas of supervisory oversight include accounting, budgeting, cashier's office, payroll, purchasing, leasing, contracts, and reporting for both audit and accreditation. The VPFA oversees capital projects and provides campus master planning support; and supervises the Controller's Office, Budget Office, Physical Plant, Human Resource Services, Public Safety, Purchasing, Risk Management, and WarriorWear (bookstore).
As the college's chief financial and business administration officer, the VPFA advises the President on matters associated with the college's financial health, trends, costs, and conformity with budgets. The VPFA provides strategic input around capital financing options to support the college's enrollment goals, growth, and long-term health. As a member of the President's Cabinet, the VPFA is part of the senior leadership team, providing financial planning direction, modeling, and expertise, including the tracking of revenue and cost drivers.
The VPFA is the college's fiscal liaison with the LC State Foundation and represents the college on financial matters related to Idaho's State Board of Education, Office of the Governor, the Idaho Legislature, and the Idaho Department of Administration. As per Idaho Code and SBOE Policy, the VPFA also serves as the Bursar of the institution.
Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support the recruitment and retention of students.
