Job Description:
The Neurotech Lab at the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to support innovative neuroscience research. This position aims to provide a well-rounded approach to research through comprehensive training and mentorship, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to grow in the field. Responsibilities include screening research participants, collecting and managing data, performing basic statistical analysis, and assisting with participant follow-up. The role will also assist in maintaining research tools, ordering inventory, and keeping detailed records of activities.
Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, possess strong computer literacy, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. While two years of prior research experience is preferred, a passion for learning and contributing to impactful research is essential.
About This Role:
- Responsible for the daily operations of assigned studies run the Neurotech Lab.
- Responsible for the implementation of research protocols with guidance from supervisors as needed.
- Regulatory management. Maintains data and filing system of completed, ongoing, and pending research protocols.
- Promotes and facilitates clinical research in the Neurotech lab.
- Participates in weekly to bi-weekly meetings with investigators and research staff to review the progress of studies.
- Participates in training, and contributes to manuscript writing and performs other related duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
Associate's degree in an appropriate area; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 2 years of experience in research;
- Sound degree of computer literacy;
- Ability to methodically record data and to analyze data using basic statistics;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
