Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the thought leadership, vision and mission of Tulane University by providing leadership to online and graduate education efforts that enables the University to be strategic, entrepreneurial, and responsive to trends of a broad range of online and distance education offerings in the schools and programs the centralized office supports. The Assistant Provost of Online Education will lead the Office of Online Education in collaborative efforts to establish online academic programs as assigned by the schools and Office of Academic Affairs and Provost, marketing and recruitment strategies, and approaches to learning that encourage online and distance education to be relevant for the marketplace while anticipating educational needs for future industries in a global economy. The role is to be performed in a way that is in harmony with the principles and philosophy of Tulane University. This position is represented on the Office of Academic Affairs and Provost Leadership Team. The Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost will oversee and manage all professional activities of the position.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in higher education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.• Five years of experience teaching or working in an online degree granting educational environment.• Five years of Student Recruitment and Enrollment Management experience.• Five years of supervisory/management experience with a track record of successful leadership.• Experience hiring, training, and developing personnel.• Demonstrated experience in Strategic planning (formulation and implementation).• Experience building student recruitment operations inclusive of marketing, admissions, and enrollment management.• Experience working and driving several internal and external entities to accomplish mission critical business needs and University objectives.• Experience in launching and managing degree and non degree seeking programs with internal and external organizations to deliver expected and contracted results.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in higher education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.• Proven track record of driving new business development/relationships within higher education (preferred: brings “relationship capital” to the role that enables immediate and credible outreach).• Knowledge of program development and online delivery models.• Digital PR, Persona Development, Branding.• Curriculum design and development with the lens of outcomes and student experiences that can affect student satisfaction and retention.• Marketing for student recruitment and demand generation.• Program development process, considerations, community impact.• Community development strategic development, implementation, practices and key performance indicators, inclusive of community colleges, affinity groups, industry and businesses.• Strong Project management.
