SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Marketing Coordinator for Non-credit Programs is responsible for the marketing and promotion of HCC’s Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education (WSCE) division and the Barr Construction Institute (BCI), in coordination with the College’s overall marketing and public relations plan.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The coordinator is a part of the Public Relations and Marketing office and reports to the Digital Marketing Manager. The coordinator works closely with the dean and program managers of WSCE, staff of BCI, and Digital Printing, Design, and Business Services (DPDBS).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develops an annual marketing plan and calendar to support the WSCE business plans and program area budgets, in coordination with the primary advertising budget maintained by the Public Relations and Marketing office.


2. Leads and prioritizes the collection of content from program managers and works with DPDBS to layout the WSCE non-credit schedule for production, three times a year. Assists in creating the timeline for schedule production, coordinating the distribution of schedules, and proofreading the piece.


3. Develops and implements advertising and promotional campaigns in conjunction with college-wide public relations and marketing programs for WSCE and BCI.


4. Identifies the data needed to analyze the effectiveness of marketing efforts, ensures routine collection of that data, and provides analysis for WSCE staff and supervisor. This includes a regular monthly marketing report for WSCE.


5. Creates and publishes content to the WSCE and BCI Facebook pages and HCC’s LinkedIn account. Attends classes and events as needed to gather content for social media.


6. Works with program managers to develop, improve, and maintain website content for all program areas.


7. Captures professional photography, supported by the Multimedia Production Specialist. This includes editing and uploading photos to the digital asset management system.


8. In collaboration with the WSCE program managers, prepares and maintains content for digital and printed collateral, email marketing, press releases, and website. This includes necessary graphic design, supported by DPDBS.


9. Works with BCI staff to coordinate social media posts, templates for printed promotional materials, and overall branding in conjunction with the College.


10. Works with WSCE program managers to develop and maintain mailing lists for targeted populations.


11. Represents WSCE at community events, assists in planning and coordinating special events, and serves on assigned committees.


12. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field, and three to five years of relevant experience. Must include experience in writing and layout for print and web publications, web content development, social media content development and management, knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, and coordination of projects involving individuals and groups.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The ideal candidate will have experience that includes excellent organizational, management, and communication skills. Specific skills include: strategic planning, budgeting, human and materials resource management; effective written and oral communication skills; social media management; creative content development; marketing and promotion; networking; ability to work individually as well as a member of a team; research and data analysis; computer literacy; and knowledge of and adherence to a variety of professional governing board policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.

Current driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Normal office environment, some evening and weekend hours required. Must be able to work flexible hours.

Hagerstown Community College (HCC) was founded in 1946 as the first of its kind in Maryland. More than 100 programs of study are available for university transfer, career preparation, and personal enrichment. HCC also offers non-credit continuing education courses and customized training programs, as well as remedial and developmental courses to help students prepare for college-level offerings. Accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, HCC awards associate degrees, certificates, and letters of recognition.

 

HCC employs approximately 540 individuals each year in full and part-time positions. Hundreds of student workers and campus volunteers also serve the campus community.
