Department/Organization: 500301 - Compliance

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The Compliance Programs Director develops and oversees the Institutional Compliance Risk Assessment Program. Compiles and submits required compliance reports to the Department of Education. Oversees Conflict of Interest Program development. Provides guidance, trains, and/or may supervise Youth Protection Program staff.

Additional Department Summary: The Compliance Programs Director oversees the compliance programs and activities that are owned and managed by CERA, and provide direction, guidance and assistance to the campus partners that are impacted by those programs. Optimizes ethical and compliant behaviors through effective programming, policies and procedures.

Develops and oversees the the Institutional Compliance Risk Assessment Program including coordinating various risk owners on campus to develop compliance improvement plans and set compliance priorities for executive leadership, and maintaining the institutional Gap Analysis and Compliance Risk Owner Inventory. Works with the system office and other campus partners to identify and assess the campus risk universe as part of a formal, pro-active risk management and risk assurance program. Compiles and submits required compliance reports to the Department of Education, including the twice yearly Foreign Gift and Contract reports as required by Section 117 of the Higher Education Act, working with campus partners to monitor proposed legislation regarding foreign influence and foreign funding reporting, and develop appropriate processes to support requirement and coordinating the biannual Alcohol and Other Drugs report on behalf of UA. Supervises Youth Protection Program staff and compliance processes, including leading assessments and continuous assessment activities to develop and improve the program administration. Oversees Conflict of Interest Program’s development, staff, and compliance processes.

Provides support and assurance for communication and disclosure obligations under the Higher Ed Act as well as other compliance initiatives as needed. Assists the Executive Director for Institutional Compliance with goal setting and strategic development of CERA programs.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of compliance risk assessment, youth protection programs, and/or conflict of interest analysis experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years compliance risk assessment, youth protection programs, and/or conflict of interest analysis experience.
